Who is collecting your personal information
Your personal information is being collected by Punthill Holdings Pty Ltd and Veriu Holdings Pty Ltd, and their related bodies corporate (LiveStay).
Types of personal information collected by LiveStay
LiveStay may collect:
- identity details such as full name, date of birth, signature and image;
- contact details such as mailing and home addresses, email address, and phone number;
- proof of identity information such as passport or driver licence details, photo and signature capture, and/or other proof of identity;
- demographic data such as age, gender, country and preferred language;
- payment information including payment card numbers, billing address and bank account information;
- information related to your reservation including the hotel/s where you have stayed, date/s of arrival and date/s of departure and services or products purchased;
- information necessary to fulfil your special requests and/or specific accommodations;
- employment information such as company name, job title and work contact information (if provided to us or in the case of corporate reservations);
- Members Program member information, online account details and profile details;
- copies of correspondence if you contact us;
- your interests and preferences if you share these with us;
- your feedback during or after your stay with us, including survey responses;
- information collected through the use of closed-circuit television systems, card key and other security systems; and
- information related to your use and interaction with our website and network.
How your personal information is collected by LiveStay
LiveStay collects your personal information:
- directly from you when you:
- enter it into our systems (for example when you enter it into our mobile app or website, or when you sign up to our Members Program);
- provide it to us by email or phone (including by SMS, MMS or other instant messaging); and
- provide it to us in person at one of our hotels (for example by providing it directly to one of our team members or enter it into one of our self serve kiosks);
- from your employer, or another of our corporate clients, when they make or pay for a booking on your behalf;
- via CCTV recordings made when you visit our hotels;
- when you engage with us through our social media accounts; and
- from third parties who assist us in delivering our products and services, when you enter information into their systems (for example booking channels and travel agents).
How personal information will be used & disclosed by LiveStay
LiveStay may collect, use or disclose your personal information to:
- manage your booking and stay at one of our hotels (which may include communicating with your employer or other third party administering your booking);
- confirm your identity upon check-in;
- improve the quality of our customer service and guest experience;
- fulfil any special requests you make in relation to your stay;
- record your stay in our Members Program;
- process payments for and relating to your booking;
- settle transactions with financial institutions in relation to your booking;
- respond to inquiries and feedback regarding your booking;
- contact you in relation to property left behind after your stay at one of our hotels;
- save you time by automatically completing forms for future bookings;
- send promotional and marketing information to you (if you have elected to receive such information from us);
- comply with legal requirements (for example, maintaining accommodation registers required by law);
- managing our relationship with and meeting our obligations to our corporate clients (if your booking is being administered or paid for by your employer or another third party);
- maintain an internal register of guests who have behaved in a fraudulent, aggressive, anti-social, or dangerous manner, or
- damaged property during a stay at our hotels, and utilise this register to assist with preserving safety and security at our hotels;
- perform other data processing and data analysis activities, including with external service providers who help LiveStay with such activities; and
- other purposes that are incidental to, or directly connected with, the above purposes, or required by law.
Other entities to which LiveStay may disclose personal informationÂ
LiveStay may disclose your personal information to:
- our related companies;
- our professional advisors (e.g. legal, accounting and audit);
- our contractors and service providers (e.g. information technology, marketing and data analytics);
- our corporate clients if your booking if your booking is being administered or paid for by one of these clients (e.g. your employer,
- an insurance company or emergency housing service);
- financial institutions;
- governmental agencies, regulatory bodies, law enforcement bodies or courts where necessary to meet our legal and regulatory obligations and protect our lawful interests; and
- as otherwise permitted or required by law.Disclosure overseas: LiveStay may disclose your personal information to external parties located outside Australia to allow those parties to perform their services for LiveStay, for example our technology service providers who may be located in, or host our data, in the United States, Europe, Asia and New Zealand.
Consequences if your requested personal information is not provided to LiveStay
If your personal information is not provided to LiveStay and/or you do not consent to the use of your personal information as specified above:
- LiveStay may be unable to complete your transaction, and may not be able to provide you with the accommodation services requested;
- If you are a member of our Members Program, then you may not be able to access member benefits in relation to your stay; and
- LiveStay may be unable to contact you in relation to your booking, or respond to feedback.
